Email mandy.mwdogtraining@gmail.com if you are returning We ask for a £50 non refundable deposit In our puppy classes we will be building some essential survival skills for you and your puppy to negotiate real life situations. We will start with the very basics and build strong core skills from the ground up. We will help you communicate effectively with your puppy and consolidate your relationship. Over the 6-week course we will be aiming to teach you and your pup to; 1. Respond to the 'Touch' cue 2. Learn to Lie 'Down' & 'Settle' on a mat 4. Learn to 'Leave It' on cue 5. 'Return to Heel' then adding steps for 'Heel work’. 6. 'Recall' using the 'Touch' Cue 7. Combine all of the above skills to use daily, come to you when called, walk nicely on the leash and walk away from distractions willingly! Over the course, we will allocate short periods of one-to-one time to ask Mark questions whilst Mandy introduces your pup to our Activity – Sensory- Enrichment Zone, explaining why mental enrichment & stimulation for your dog is as important as physical exercise. Pups can explore, sniff scents, find rewards & investigate objects and feel textures. Once we have built a relationship with your dogs and understand them as individuals who would be comfortable to socialise in the group, we will allow this to happen. We also cater for anxious & recently rescued pups by allowing them time to adjust to their new environment in our Activity - Sensory - Enrichment Zone without pressure to participate. Mandy will be very involved in this process to allow you to watch and learn from Mark and the other puppies until your pup is ready or back home in a safe space to start learning with you with the guidance of our video footage. What we cover in class needs you to commit time for both you and your Puppy to work together at home on a regular basis. Short stints per exercise with breaks for processing and decompression time for your pup are crucial. Effective, kind, reward-based training can be achieved. It may feel very repetitive, but consistency allows your dogs to learn & understand what you are expecting from them as individuals - always keep mindful that no dog learns at the same pace. We will ask you to join a private WhatsApp Group to enable us to share video footage of our classes and lessons as well as allowing you to ask questions
